Rolled-Out-Of-Bed Beauty: Apple Cider Old Fashioned

Your look is gorgeous in an effortless, bed-head sort of way — even if you spent a good chunk of the evening styling it — so your beverage of choice should give the illusion of ease as well. An apple cider old fashioned is a festive twist on a simple classic.

You’ll need ½ cup of ice, ⅔ cup of apple cider, 2 ounces of your favorite whiskey, 2 dashes of bitters, and apple slices and a cinnamon stick for garnish. Combine everything but the garnish in a class and stir.

Smooth And Sleek: Champagne Margarita

Are you taking our advice and trying out this look for your New Year’s Eve bash? If so, we’ve got your libations covered too. Champagne is great for celebrating new beginnings, and tequila is great for celebrating… everything. Try this combo cocktail to bring in the new year with a bang.

You’ll need ½ cup of fresh lime juice, 1 cup of silver tequila, ½ cup of orange liqueur, 1 bottle of champagne (which is about three cups), and lime wedges and salt for the rim. Combine the ingredients in a pitcher and stir. Wet the rims of the champagne flutes with the lime wedges and dip the rims in coarse salt. Pour the mixture into the flutes and garnish the rims with the lime wedges.

Half-Up, Half-Down Hair: Cranberry Mule

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again — this style is a classic. You have to make classic things your own though, right? We know your half-up, half-down ‘do won’t look like anyone else’s, so your beverage shouldn’t be like anyone else’s either. The cranberry mule is another trendy classic beverage with a holiday twist.

You’ll need 2 ounces of cranberry juice, 2 ounces of vodka, ¼ cup of lime juice, 3 ounces of ginger beer, and whole cranberries and a lime wedge for garnish. Combine the cranberry juice, lime juice, and vodka in a glass filled with ice. Pour the ginger beer over the top, and garnish with cranberries and the lime wedge.

Polished Updo: Cranberry Mojito

Whether you’re rocking a ponytail, a braid, or a chignon, a smooth look like yours needs a smooth drink to accompany it. A cranberry mojito is festive, tangy, and just sweet enough to making sipping easy.

Grab 1 cup of cranberry juice, 1 cup of seltzer water, ¼ cup of lime juice, 6 ounces of light rum, 2 teaspoons of honey, ⅓ cup of mint leaves, 3 cups of ice, and lime wedges and cranberries for garnish. Shake together the cranberry juice, seltzer water, lime juice, rum, mint leaves, and honey. Fill three glasses with ice, pour the mixture over the top, and garnish with the lime wedges and cranberries.

Messy Updo: Fireball Hot Toddy

It doesn’t matter how wild the winter night gets when your ‘do is messy to begin with. That’s exactly why your drink of choice should be a fiery, spicy one. A hot toddy is generally for cozying up by the fire for a quiet night in, though, isn’t it? Not when you add a little Fireball to the mix, it isn’t.

For this feisty drink, you’ll need 2 cups of water, ¼ cup of warm caramel, 2 teaspoons of honey, the juice from half a lemon, ¼ cup of Fireball, 2 cinnamon sticks, and 2 star anise. Bring the water to a boil and dip the rims of the glasses in caramel. Add honey to each glass and squeeze the lemon juice. Pour the Fireball and boiling water in and stir until the honey is dissolved. Finally, add the cinnamon stick and star anise.
